Sidney, Maine – Making a positive impact in the lives of people and horses. Mel is the owner-operator of Tales of Maine offering horseback riding instruction and certified as an equine assisted therapy facilitator using the EAGALA (eagala.org) model. I’ve been working with Mel the past few weeks photographing her and her horses for her business website (coming soon). Mel is pictured here with her 16 yr. old pure bred Morgan mare Carina, one of the horses she uses for her equine therapy program, her master therapy horse. “Carina shares her wisdom and unconditional love to help countless children and adults overcome life challenges including depression, fear, anxiety, uncertainty, and low self-esteem. She has incredible capabilities of offering instant feedback of people’s inner state. When around people with multiple disabilities, she offers an even higher understanding of acceptance and non-judgmental accurate reflections.” Mel shared with me, “I can’t imagine my life without her for many reasons but mostly because she offers herself up as a divine mirror of how I feel, and I can always trust that it is the most accurate reflection of what I need to work on.” Mel, I love what you’re doing with your kind heart, the world can never have enough kindness to go around. Thank you for sharing it with me!
