Once your date is reserved, we'll connect to discuss potential locations for your session. I typically recommend choosing one location to keep things focused, but if it’s somewhere I haven’t worked before, I’ll visit ahead of time to assess the light and determine the best time of day for the shoot.

I've put together some helpful tips for selecting your equestrian outfits, and I'd be happy to share them once you book your session. Think about showcasing your unique style—whether it’s a polished riding look with tailored breeches and a fitted jacket, or something more casual like a favorite sweater with your boots, or even a classic western vibe with a great hat and denim. The key is to wear what feels like you—something that makes you feel confident, comfortable, and proud of your connection to your horse. I want your outfits to complement the natural bond between you and your horse, so that it really shines through in your images!
Your session will be fully planned out before we start shooting. Together, we will make sure that you love your outfits, the location, and that the season fits your aesthetic. We start with beautiful light either early morning or a few hours before the sun goes down.
On the day of your session, we'll connect to make sure the weather still looks like it's going to cooperate. We'll exchange numbers and finalize our meeting location. Please plan for your session to take about two hours from start to finish.
What you want is what you will buy, there is no hard sell. My job is to take beautiful photographs that you will love. After your session, your photos are carefully hand-edited by me to achieve optimal imagery. Then we will meet again at your viewing & ordering appointment so I can share the best of what we captured. This is the time when you will finalize your portrait order, and I’ll be right there to help you sort through the images and make final decisions on what will look best with your decor. I’ll show you actual size and pair images together for a stunning album or wall gallery. I can’t wait for you to see!
