After photographing hundreds of portrait sessions over the last 16 years with a diversified portfolio of subjects, I have found that every families wants and needs for portraits are different. That’s why this process begins with a conversation.
We’ll get to know one another, talk about the details of your session, and I’ll answer any questions you might have about working with me to figure out what it is that you want as an end product...and we will shoot for that!

Once your date is reserved, we'll connect to start chatting about possible locations for your session. I generally recommend choosing one location and if it's a place I haven't been before, I will visit and take a look around prior to the time our session will take place. That way I’ll have an idea of the light, and the best time of day we should shoot for. If you're not sure about where you would like to take your photos but you have a general idea of the look you would like, just let me know, I would be happy to recommend a few locations based on your style!

I've put together a few tips for putting together your outfit(s) and would be happy to send along to you once you book your session. Keep in mind, this is your session, and your outfits should reflect your own personal style to bring out the best in you!
waRDROBE

Your session will be fully planned out before we start shooting. Together, we will make sure that you love your outfits, the location, and that the season fits your aesthetic. We start with beautiful light either early morning or a few hours before the sun goes down.
On the day of your session, we'll connect to make sure the weather still looks like it's going to cooperate. We'll exchange numbers and finalize our meeting location. Please plan for your session to take about two hours from start to finish.
The SEssion

What you want is what you will buy, there is no hard sell. My job is to take beautiful photographs that you will love. After your session, your photos are carefully hand-edited by me to achieve optimal imagery. Then we will meet again at your viewing & ordering appointment so I can share the best of what we captured. This is the time when you will finalize your portrait order, and I’ll be right there to help you sort through the images and make final decisions on what will look best with your decor. I’ll show you actual size and pair images together for a stunning album or wall gallery. I can’t wait for you to see!
