Senior year is a time filled with anticipation and excitement. It marks the beginning of a new chapter as young adults prepare for what comes next. It is also a time for reflection, growth, and celebrating the person they have become.
That is why senior portraits are so meaningful. They capture this moment in life before everything begins to change.
Natasha was the last senior I had the privilege of photographing this season, and I was thrilled she decided to bring someone special with her. Her 18-year-old Quarter Horse, “Miss Silver Target,” affectionately known as Rosie, joined us for the session.
Celebrating the Bond Between a Girl and Her Horse
This session was more than a senior portrait shoot. It became a beautiful way to celebrate the bond Natasha shares with Rosie.
I have known Natasha for several years and met Rosie when she first became part of her life. Over time, I have watched their connection grow stronger. Through every challenge and milestone, Rosie has remained a steady source of comfort and joy.
During the session, it was clear how much Rosie means to her. Natasha’s smile seemed just a little brighter whenever Rosie stood beside her.
A Special Senior Portrait Session
Photographing seniors with their horses always brings something extra to a session. Horses add personality, movement, and emotion that make the portraits truly unique.
For Natasha, including Rosie felt natural. Rosie has been part of her life and her story for many years, so it made perfect sense to celebrate that connection during her senior portraits.
Favorite Moments from the Session
Below are a few of Natasha’s favorite images from the session. She selected them together with her parents during our viewing this evening.
One of my personal favorites captures a quiet behind-the-scenes moment. Natasha’s mom stepped in to help guide both Natasha and Rosie through the water for a shot. It was a sweet family moment that perfectly reflected the teamwork behind the session.
And yes, we made sure Natasha wore boots for safety!
